Marsella, Barcelona, Marsella. Clase mini 650 solitario. El escaso viento unido a la ola de calor convirtió esta regata en una especie de infierno demencial. 400 millas navegadas sorteando calmas a 1 y 2 nudos. Cuando Tomás Ruiz doblaba la boya de Barcelona y ponía de nuevo rumbo a Marsella, sus inmediatos seguidores andaban hacia BCN a la altura de Premiá de Mar. No me quiero poner tonto porqué se trata de mi hijo, pero estaréis de acuerdo en que apunta maneras. Hace poco ganó la Palma Vela esta vez A Dos con Hugo Ramón. Tiempo al tiempo. El que avisa no es traidor.

David Ruiz

From 1981 to 1992 he worked at the advertising agencies: RCP Saatchi, Publis, GGK and Bassat Ogilvy as art director and creative director.

 In 1993 he set up his own studio, Ruiz+Company, which works on projects in packaging, advertising and broadcast design. Blurring the boundaries between advertising and design, it tackles projects of all kinds where the common denominator is creativity.  

 

To date he has been awarded 119 international prizes in all disciplines. Highlights among these include the first advertising graphic design Grand Prix ever won in Spain, for a campaign for Levi’s and awarded at the Clio Festival in San Francisco in 1995; a gold medal from the Art Directors Club of New York, 2 Lions at the Cannes International Festival, 6 Red Dot Awards at the Design Festival in Essen, as well as 5[DS2]  Gold Laus Trophies in Spain.

 

In 1997 he was elected a member of AGI (Alliance Gráphique Internacional).

 

He has been a member of the jury for the following awards:

Art Directors Club of New York, Art Directors Club of Europe, New York Festival, 2 editions, Eurobest, École Superieur Nationale des Arts Decoratifs, Paris. Laus 3 editions, Barcelona. Best Pack, Barcelona

 

His work has been published in numerous national and international books and magazines alike.

 

In 2009, Ruiz+Company was named “Design Studio of the Decade” by a survey carried out by the magazine El Publicista among 5,000 sector professionals.
